The similarity ends there because this film is one of the sleaziest films made in 1976 or any other year. While it looks pretty good and offers a style bigger than its budget, Black Shampoo is packed out with terrible performances and some outrageous padding - such as a scene where Mr. Jonathon drives around town looking for a character, doesn't find her, and then drives home. John Daniel's costumes are probably enough to justify watching this once, but there's also copious amounts of sex and a man gets brutally sodomized with a hot curling iron.
